Last week we read the story Kipper's Birthday, he made a cherry cake for his party. We thought we would like to make a cherry cake, so today Miss Morrison and Mrs Coulter helped us make a cake. We weighed out the flour, sugar and butter, chopped the cherries, broke the eggs and grated the lemon skin. Then we mixed it all together, that was hard work. Next we poured our mixture into cake tins and took them round to the kitchen where our lovely cooks baked them in the oven. After lunch we made the icing using icing sugar and lemon juice, we decorated our cake and then we got to eat it. Most of us thought it was yummy!
