January was another busy month in P1. Our topic was Fairytales. We have had a three bears cottage and a three little pigs workshop to play in during Play Based Learning. We were learning about bears and bridges and different types of houses too. We were learning all about numbers 6 and 7, we can sort objects using a Venn and a tree diagram.
We have also been learning about persuasive writing, in P1 we are starting to give our opinion and reasons why we like something. Our sounds are getting tricky too.....we can use digraphs in words now. We know fairytales start with 'once upon a time....' and end with 'happily ever after'. Everyone gets to help Miss McLaughlin act out the story too.
In PE we were learning to balance and throw and catch. We even had a walk outside to find rectangles in the snow, instead of drawing rectangles on a page we got to draw them in the snow! We had a health and fitness day too - we took part in an exercise day with 'Wild cats' and had a fun walk in the snow!
