P1 Morrison January and February
We have been so busy in school this term. We have continued with our sounds and we are now using them to read and write! In numeracy we have been working on numbers within 10 and sorting with Venn and Carroll diagrams. Our topic was fairytales, we read lots of stories and learnt about different bears, houses, bridges and castles. We enjoyed playing in the Three Bears Cottage, making porridge, building houses in the Three Little Pigs Workshop and making bridges during our STEM day. For internet safety we learnt a song about using our tablets safely. In PE we started learning how to throw and catch, it can be very tricky but we try really hard in P1. To finish off the term we took part in some global learning, this tied in with our rights. We looked at how children in Kenya have the same rights as we do even if they have to walk long distances to get water. We brought our buckets to school, filled them with water and took them on a walk around the playground. It wasn’t long before our arms got sore and we started complaining. We wouldn’t like to do that everyday to get water to drink! We can’t wait to see what exciting things we get up to next.
