On a day that was cold enough for icebergs we headed off to the Titanic Centre in Belfast for an amazing trip. After meeting our guide we set off on the Ship of Dreams Guided Tour. We learned about the construction and launch of the liner, we got to see what it was like inside the ship and in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd class cabins and we watched incredible footage of the ship under water. We then made a trip to the shop and bought souvenirs of our visit.
After lunch in the pavilion we walked over to the SS Nomadic. The Nomadic had tendered the 1st and 2nd class passengers to the Titanic in Cherbourg. On board we learned about Morse code, Semaphore & signal flags and we sent messages to each other. Afterwards Laura told us the interesting history of the tender which had been built by White Star line as a mini Titanic.
We had a really great trip, learned so many new and interesting facts about the Titanic and all said we would like to go back again!
