RSSA Global Learning week in P1
P1 focused on the country Kenya this week. We learned about a girl called Brenda who lives in an orphanage. Miss Morrison sponsors her so she can go to school. We know Kenya is in Africa and it is a hot country. The people are very poor. We learned about how ALL children have the right to go to school, even if they are poor or have a disability. We found out that children in Kenya don't have water taps in their house and have to walk for miles to get their own water. We pretended we were in Kenya and walked with buckets to fetch some water. It was so tiring and our arms were very sore! We talked about how the buckets were light at the beginning and then got very heavy. We found out lots of children drink dirty water in Kenya and it made us feel sad. We know that ALL children have the right to drink clean water.
